The 17th annual Kenan Institute Student awards will honor outstanding students who excel in the areas of leadership, research, policy impact and service.

Join us in celebrating the Class of 2024 Luther Hodges Scholars. The Luther Hodges Scholar Graduation Celebration will take place on Friday, May 10th from Noon to 1:00 PM.


Past

Scholars will have the opportunity to explore Dr. Watson's research on immigration and learn what advice she has for future professionals. Leading the discussion is Gabriela Goodman, an LHS Class of 2023 graduate who can speak on her work with Dr. Watson and experiences as a new professional.

An alum of UNC, Elizabeth Faber has been with Deloitte for nearly 30 years, serving in multiple leadership positions. Currently, Elizabeth serves on Deloitte's Global Executive Committee and is the Chair of the Global Talent, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Purpose executive teams. Kenan Institute Distinguished Fellow Josh Lerner, Jacob H. Schiff Professor of Investment Banking at Harvard Business School, will be visiting the Kenan Institute on February 15 to discuss his research on innovation policy, venture capital, and private equity organizations.

Kenan Institute Distinguished Fellow Angelica Leigh is an assistant professor of management and organizations at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She received her Ph.D. in organizational behavior from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Dr. Leigh’s research centers on race in organizations.

Kenan Institute Distinguished Fellow Tara Watson is a professor of Economics at Williams College, where she has been on the faculty since 2004. She is also the director of the Center on Children and Families at the Brookings Institution.
